Artist Kyle Taylor has recently released his EP ‘The Creatures‘. With a listen to his tracks, one can easily find the heart within the folk style tales, told by this inspirational story-teller.

Kyle weaves lyrical poetry out of heavy topics such as religion and politics and then dissects them into what has been said to be the street poetry of a busker.

This article will dive into the depths of what has inspired Kyle Taylor to release his EP and what lies behind his insightful tales.

Who is Kyle Taylor?

Kyle is an Australian folk musician, with a passion for poetry, story-telling and inspiring deep thought.. He has been compared to the likes of Rodriguez or the ‘godfather of folk’, Bob Dylan.

Much of his inspiration is drawn from his love and passion of travelling the world.. he loves to write about the places he visits and the interesting people he meets along the journey.

With a grand mission of worldly inspiration, Kyle’s musical journey began right at home, as his grandparents encouraged him to follow his musical passion.

What inspired the creation of ‘The Creatures’

When asked what the EP, ‘The Creatures‘ means to Kyle, he says simply “I drew inspiration from the places I visited and the people I met”.. He is well travelled and has seen so many sights.. the EP is a compilation of inspiration from his journey.

He says that “the songs allow me to deep-dive into everything from today’s news, local and international issues, to good old fashioned love songs.”

Kyle sees his music creation as he is painting a message, directly from his heart.. “I believe every artist suffers for their art, but if you feel what you are creating your art should relieve you of the ache and help you cope in the long run.”

What does the future hold for Kyle?

In the upcoming 2021, Kyle will be releasing a massive 33 track album.

He tells us that “The album will feature poetry, instrumental music, impassioned vocals and thought-provoking conversations with folk musicians Archer and Khristian Mizzi including a collaboration with harpsichordist Adam Bowden in a special improvisation piece.”

What advice would you give to aspiring artists?

“If I was giving advice I would expect it to be; “Don’t lose hope” – As one might be fighting for their rights or love, we must keep belief in ourselves and find hope in the past, now and future for all of us, no matter how challenging life may get.”
