The latest album from Jaël, “Midlife” is an intimate yet poignant reflection of her personal journey and showcases her vocal versatility. From “Only Human” to the hypnotic track “Untouched by Grey and Rain,” every note resonates with heartfelt emotion.

“Iitii,” featuring Jaël singing Swiss-German, stands out on this album. This track conveys Jaël’s message about neurosensitivity being different and alienating society – an powerful message many listeners can relate to.

“Paralyzed” is an engaging examination of sexual assault and its resulting fear and rigidity that prevent people from protecting themselves or fleeing away. Jaël is commendable in her courage in speaking openly about this subject matter through song.

“To Miss You” was co-written with Jaël’s former band co-founder and producer Luk Zimmermann to serve as an emotional reminder of her past, connections she’s made throughout her career, and relationships she has established over time.

Cyril Camenzind produced this double album, featuring exclusive photographs, personal thoughts and live recordings from her last tour. Each song was specially arranged for this intimate interpretation featuring both soulful-fragile moments as well as epic-powerful ones.

“Midlife” is Jaël’s most comprehensive work to date. Her warm yet melancholic voice shines throughout this album’s fragile piano ballads or driving guitar songs enriched with touches of xylophone and kalimba; creating an experience that will linger long after its last note fades away.
