The album starts with the aftermath of a ten-year relationship that ended when LEO’s partner found someone else. It then follows her journey as she moves back in with her mum, finds herself jobless and gigless, and finally, falls in love all while in lockdown. The recording process was a DIY, independent effort, with LEO writing the songs in Windsor and recording in her new girlfriend’s wardrobe in Brisbane. The tracks were then sent to Lindsay Martin in Wollongong for mixing and mastering, adding a final layer of polish to the album.
LEO’s decision not to upload the album to streaming platforms adds to the personal and intimate feel of the record. Instead, she’s put together an ‘album booklet’ that includes lyrics, images by Fireflight Media and a QR code that takes you to a Google Drive containing all eight tracks to listen to and download.
