Surf Coast Artist Maz Green Calls Out Misogyny With Indie Alt-Rock Single ‘Wrong Impression’

Square

Residing in the regional surf coast Victorian, Australian town of Barwon Heads, modern indie alt pop/rock artist, Maz Green has a passion for creating introspective lyricism with an alternative twist that can be compared to the sounds of Olivia Rodrigo, Holly Humberstone and Phoebe Bridges.

Fans of Maz Green recognise her signature nostalgic and laid back surf/skate style, featuring a mix of clothing from the 1970s and 1990s and her love of bare feet and describe her as a combination of nostalgic, spiritual, open and quirky.

Beyond her own music, Maz has been working within disability care for the last 4 years, with a passion for helping young women to learn to express themselves through music.. A journey inspired by her own struggles with mental health, growing up and her auntie who has a disability.

“I’ve always constantly felt like the odd one out, now I embrace my differences and see this hardship growing up as a positive learning experience.. I never want anyone to feel alone or feel like their differences are negative. I try to show up as a better version of myself everyday, and be kind to others” Maz Green

The latest single release from Maz Green, ‘Wrong Impression’ is an anti-misogynistic anthem to women living in all different walks of life, who have ever felt uncomfortable in someone’s hands.

The track calls for the attention of the listener, combining a driving and catchy rock rhythm and resounding electric guitars, with declarative pop vocals.

“Now has never been a better time, to stand up for ourselves, our rights and use our voices in a positive way.” Maz Green
