4. Cycles – Heirloome (EP)

Australian based artist, Lillie – a self-confessed ‘weird kid and late bloomer’ – is the brains and the voice behind the musical project, Heirloome.

Inspired by creators such as Kate Bush, Björk and ANOHNI, Heirloome creates a vulnerable, yet authentically enchanting sound of chamber pop, using sounds crafted with salvaged fox furs and grasses, harps and ukuleles and the powerful vocals of Lillie.

Heirloome’s debut EP, Cycles is a three track story of Hope, Grief and Magic, inspired by the sudden loss of her younger brother.

“My brother died in an accident at 23, and I was completely broken. Grief changes you forever, and we will all experience it. It unites us in that way. To help my brother’s spirit move on, and for my own healing, I saw a shaman. She called in a hummingbird to guide me, and then three birds landed outside my window, and each told me to write a song for my brother. This record is those three songs – trying to find hope again after deep grief, and creating a place for healing & honouring the life cycle.” Heirloome

5. Heatstroke – Chris Wiper

Residing in Nashville, USA, pop artist, Chris Wiper found himself in an internal battle as covid began.

It was during this challenging time that Chris Wiper wrote his latest single release, ‘Heatstroke’.

Inspired by artists including Lorde, Remi Wolf, Janelle Monae, Phoebe Bridgers and Jensen McRae, the track talks of how Chris attached all of his mental and physical self-worth to one person and how he was left feeling alone and disappointed over and over again.
