From Chattanooga in the United States, singer-songwriter, Anna Baldree began her musical journey in 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
Exploring the pairing of melancholy lyricism with ethereal pop-influenced melodies, Anna found herself working from open mic shows to performing in local bars and in local festivals. Fast forward to today, and Anna is sharing her latest work and debut album.
Produced and recorded by Ivan Garcia, and mixed and mastered by Daniel Nelson, Anna Badree’s debut album release, ‘Because Of The Rain’ takes the listener on a discovery journey throughout Anna’s headspace within 2020 and 2021, throughout the global Covid-19 pandemic, swinging intentionally between the polarities of cynicism and optimism.
Diving into themes such as unrequited love, loneliness, anxiety, and depression, Anna gently guides the listener with soundscapes that range from folky pop sounds to the more vibrant atmosphere of indie rock.
‘Because of The Rain’ is an album that expresses so may depths and layers, both within the storytelling and between the sweet ethereal vocals of Anna and the diversity in the varying soundscapes created.
