Cork-based artist HANNAHBELLA returns with ‘BASELINE’, a bass-heavy, electrified track that merges glitchy hyper-pop, alt-rock distortion, and pulsing electronics. The song introduces a darker, more intense energy to her upcoming EP, Parasite, shifting away from the dreamlike quality of her previous single ‘Dainty Fae’.
‘BASELINE’ captures a storm of emotions, layering aggressive synths, distorted bass, and an unpredictable structure that refuses to settle. It began as a solo production but took on new life with the energy of her live band, shaping it into something raw and urgent. Inspired by the slow-build tension of trip-hop and the edge of industrial rock, the track spirals through chaos and catharsis.
“It’s the boiling point of the EP—the big finale”, HANNAHBELLA shares. “I wanted to create a whirlwind of sound to match the lyrics’ overwhelming, spiraling nature. It feels like the ‘bassline’ of my brain—an audio representation of constant internal ramblings.”
Her live performances bring that same intensity, with unpredictable energy and a theatrical presence that makes each show an experience. Every song she creates pushes boundaries, blurring the lines between genres to craft something entirely her own.
Buckle up—this is just the beginning!
