Italian Artist Alex Aureo Shares Debut Single “Swear To Defend”

Italian artist Alex Aureo started making music at the young age of 13, learning to play electric guitar and singing in a band that covered Green Day and Blink 182. The thrill of performing every Sunday was incomparable for him, and he continued studying music until he was 18.

After high school, Alex chose tattooing over music due to his love for drawing. Despite his passion for music, he focused on tattooing, opening a studio in Rome, by the Colosseum, at 21. This career brought him international clients and made him more connected to the global scene while working between Rome, NY and LA. Now, Alex has reached the peak of his tattoo career, working with celebrities like Demi Lovato and The Chainsmokers.  His journey from a small Italian town to an international career in tattooing and now music shows that anything is possible with hard work and belief in oneself.

For our greatest pleasure, he decided to return to his passion for music last Summer. Starting a TikTok account led to viral singing videos, gaining him over 2.6 million followers in less than a year. He is also known as “The Singing Tattooer” because of his habit of singing to his clients while tattooing.

His debut single “Swear To Defend” is a beautiful acoustic pop song set against a backdrop of nostalgia and a soulful and airy atmosphere. The intimate soundscape features his soulful voice and guitar, drawing comparisons to the evocative and melancholic vibes of Lewis Capaldi’s “Hallelujah”.

The song explores themes of love, support, and determination. Aureo shares his inspiration behind the track, reflecting on the search for the right person and the profound impact of finding them. “It was searching for the right person, which seems to never arrive. But when it does it clears away all of the doubts. It helps you move past things and, with that person by your side, you can do anything,” he explains.

“It’s the perfect ‘wedding song’ to play on an altar when she is walking down the aisle. It’s a song about admitting to being imperfect and needing someone with us to support us. It uses the metaphors of nature to show the complexity of relationships and life (when a tree falls and blocks our way \ when a storm forms \ when the night comes). It’s swearing to protect someone. ‘Till the end.” – Alex Aureo
