With the release of their latest single, “Grounded Satellites”, The Forever Now invites you to join them on an extraordinary creative experience.
‘Grounded Satellites’ captivates all five senses with its intriguing soundtrack, which initially sounds like a cinematic overture. This short intro is soon joined in with a soundscape of synth that livens your senses, and an irresistible driving rhythm. Layers of vocals gradually emerge, creating an epic journey across sonic landscapes. The track develops into a powerful indie synth-rock anthemic experience.
Imagine tyres screeching and an empty passenger seat as you drive out of California and you can begin to picture the sound emerging of “Grounded Satellites”. The Forever Now, a Copenhagen-based indie rock band, is known for its modern topics with a dynamic production, a sound which is reminiscent of legends like MGMT. Its youthful innocence and do-it-yourself style are evocative of the early days of indie rock.
The terrifying story of a person clinging to the final glimpses of summer in “Grounded Satellites” is one of time running out. Its visual, lyrically, depicts shattered relationships as their old city no longer fulfils promises made during previous trips. With the release of this song, The Forever Now achieves their grand comeback and realises their lifelong goal of reaching the stars. It took them five years to get here after they recorded their first demos back in May of 2018. Reaching this point was also no easy feat. The following notable figures in music were enlisted by the band to assist them in their quest to discover their sound: Vocals were provided by Raene (from BBC’s “Top 25 Most Played Artists of 2020”), mixing by Aaron Short of The Naked and Famous, drums by John O’Reilly Jr. (fun., EL VY, Jimmy Eat World), and mastering by Shawn Hatfield (Yumi Zouma, Kimbra)
The Naked and Famous, M83, MGMT, Chvrches, and Oh Wonder are just a few of the artists that The Forever Now has drawn inspiration from to build its own sound. Their music demonstrates the merging of genres to create an ambient experience that draws listeners in and transports them on this sonic expedition.
The Forever Now’s “Grounded Satellites” is an external investigation of feelings, sounds, and the potential of indie synth-rock. Prepare to be swept in by Grounded Satellites’ gravitational pull. Their reappearance has marked another milestone in their incredible musical journey.
