WAMALA begins his EP with the track ‘Ain’t Really Livin’ an unforgettable introduction into his world through soothing piano chords and WAMALA’s passionate and emotive vocals. Each note brings you one step closer to the peak, and by the end, you’re hooked on every musical nuance.

The music comes to life on track two, “Dance Again”. Packed with synths, driving drum beats, retro vibes, and lively indie pop anthem elements that invite dancers of all types to get up and groove to his lively indie pop anthem showcasing his versatility as an artist who effortlessly transitions from introspective ballads to infectious dance tunes.

WAMALA began his musical journey at age 11, and has been dubbed “the Black man’s Radiohead”. His EP, produced by Joshua Moriarty (Miami Horror/Telenova) and recorded in Melbourne with an 8-piece string ensemble, offers a powerful statement inspired by various genres, including 90s alternative rock/R&B/trip hop/grunge/modern folk/gospel blues soul. It marks years of exploration from punk bands to folk, blues and trip hop – with Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’ being an eye-opener and inspiring his sound that remains authentic today.
