The debut EP from Kabelle, ‘Restless Mind,’ is a perfect example of how music can be a therapy during tough times. With seven songs, the EP is a combination of catchy beats, gliding vocals, pulsing synth, and a deeply personal expression of struggle during the times of Covid-19 lockdowns. Each song is a reflection of the band’s journey during the pandemic, and the result is an emotional rollercoaster that takes the listener on a journey of self-discovery.
The EP opens with ‘A Million Pieces,’ a song that sets the tone for the entire album. The pulsing beats and catchy melody create a sense of anticipation that continues throughout the EP. ‘Wonder’ follows with its dreamy vocals and upbeat rhythm, making it an instant favorite.
The title track, ‘Restless Mind,’ is a standout song that showcases the band’s ability to blend different genres seamlessly. The hauntingly emotive vocals, pulsing beat, and synth melody create a mood that perfectly captures the sense of anxiety and restlessness that many felt during lockdown.
The EP ends with ‘Feel Better,’ a song that perfectly captures the feeling of hope and optimism that comes with overcoming difficult times.
‘Restless Mind’ is an impressive debut from Kabelle. The EP is a perfect blend of indie, synth-pop, and electronica. With their electric, colourful shows and festival appearances, Kabelle is definitely a band to watch out for in the future.
