It’s a truly captivating and special moment when two artists that both inspire and mesmerise, join forces to create something beautiful with the power of two. Artists that have done just this are English artist Dom Malin and German/Spanish artist Luna Keller with their first collaboration, ‘Overgrown’.

We have had the opportunity to follow each of their journeys over the last couple of years. You can read more about Dom Malin here, and more about Luna Keller here.

Meeting online for the first time in the autumn of 2020, the pair began to support each other’s music and it wasn’t long before they were beginning to write songs remotely.

When Dom shared the initial ideas for ‘Overgrown’, it sparked a connection to the song for both Luna and Dom. In November 2021, the pair met for the first time and began to work on developing the song in Dom’s home studio.

“When he sent me his verse idea for “Overgrown” I immediately felt connected to it. Having moved from home this year a part of me feels like the garden, the places I used to nurture and be a part of are now left to grow on their own, without me.” Luna Keller

The dreamy folk singer-songwriter single, ‘Overgrown’ acts as a metaphor for the loss of someone close to you.. the loss of a mother, father, sibling, friend or grandparents. The track acknowledges the feeling of missing that person, however also highlights the beautiful memories that you share of that person.

“The inspiration for the song came from my own childhood and how I would spend my weekends with my grandparents. Some of my favorite lines come from the Bridge, these include ‘grass beneath my toes’, ‘dirt on the patio’, and ‘flowers in the window’. They not only invoke memories but ignite the senses and create a vivid and lasting image.” Dom Malin

‘Overgrown’ is both melancholic and holds a depth of authentic storytelling, that anyone who has experienced the complexities of losing someone close to them can deeply connect to. The song is filled with the stunningly haunting sounds of harmonies as the voices of Luna and Dom come together in synchronicity.

This is a track that will draw you into every moment and have you hanging on every note.
