Kaiwyn Expresses Regret With Single ‘You’re My Kind’

Square

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, indie-pop artist, Kaiwyn moved to Gosford, Australia, to undergo his medical training, now continuing with his psychiatry training, alongside his music.

Beginning his songwriting journey as a teenager, Kaiwyn collected a library of songs that continued to build as he was studying medicine within Australia and once the time arrived for him to unleash his captivating sound within the public arena, his musical project was born.

Inspired by the early 2000s pop/rock/punk scene, the latest and second single release from Kaiwyn, ‘You’re My Kind’ was written in 2008 and tells a story of regret of being late to realise that the one that he desired, felt the same about him.

‘You’re My Kind’ brings an indie-pop vibe, particularly as the drums kick into the mix and combines the upbeat feel of the genre with a sense of emotive loss, as he looks back over the time that could have been.

Incorporating the sounds of hiccups, mic feedback, smacking lips and laser gun, the track is truly a work of experimental art, filled with a familiar, relatable storyline experienced by much of the human population. We truly look forward to hearing what comes next from Kaiwyn!
