Based in Nashville, United States, singer-songwriter, Eliza Harrison Smith is proudly known by friends close to her as the queen of the sad song.

Inspired by the likes of Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, Maggie Rogers, Sasha Sloan and Holly Humberstone, Eliza spent her teenage years exploring the possibilities of songwriting before moving to Nashville in the fall of 2019, where she began to pursue the art of writing and sharing music as a career.

As well as developing her own stunning solo music, Eliza Harrison Smith has also written songs for the likes of folk-pop artist Koli Kohler and indie-pop artist Kendall Bowser.

Produced and mixed by Jared Atol and mastered by Adam Grover, the latest single by Eliza Harrison Smith, ‘Got Away With It’ tells the story of the experience within the aftermath of having your heart broken.

“This was actually the first song I wrote after I moved to Nashville. I’ve been in Nashville for three years now and I’ve written hundreds of songs since then, but this one is still so special to me. I remember when I was writing it, I was so excited to be in Nashville, surrounded by the best songwriting community in the world.” Eliza Harrison Smith

‘Got Away With It’ explores the point after the grief, when you begin to question the fairness of the situation, asking “how could someone do this to another person?”. The result is a stunning crime metaphor, wrapped in a gorgeous ballad filled with emotion inducing piano tinkling and the alluring honey-like vocals of Eliza.
