Based in Munich, Germany, singer-songwriter, Katie Wellenberg delicately crafts lyrical imagery that conjures a depth of authentic and soulful reflection within the listener.
“Music in its very essence is a most powerful form of communication that triggers a response from within the body, soul and mind. It is the lyrics that can get us thinking, while the composition takes us way beyond conscious understanding. Being present is the hardest thing and yet being present means being at peace. Music does that for us. It holds us, pushes us and unapologetically displays who we truly are.” Katie Wellenberg
Katie’s music is designed to help listeners to unravel the world as it is, with all its glory, majesty and cruelty, and to lead them on a journey to finding strength in moving forward.
The latest, eight track album release from Katie Wellenberg, ‘Time Will Tell’ is a storytelling experience, taking listeners from a state of heartbreak to healing, and teaching about allowing, giving and receiving love in healthier ways.
With a sound that can be likened to that of Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow and Courtney Marie Andrews, ‘Time Will Tell’ has been split into five chapters, moving through denial, pain, acceptance, healing, and regeneration, and reflects stories from real life experiences, lived by Katie and the people close to her.
“I suppose the album could easily become an endless circular loop, as in life we often think we finally understand things and got them down, just so to fall right back into old habits. Maturing and healing are ongoing, non-linear processes I guess” Katie Wellenberg
With songs ranging from the Americana-country feel of ‘Gambler’ to a folk ballad feel of ‘Time Will Tell’, the album will have you captivated by the true authenticity felt, alongside Katie Wellenberg’s sweet and alluring vocals.
