Australian singer-songwriter, author, founder of independent label, Commonfolk Records, and book publishing house, Commonfolk Publishing, Ziggy Alberts is a force penetrating the Australian landscape and across the globe.
Telling his story on his own terms, Ziggy was awarded the 2022 APRA award for his single, ‘Letting Go’, earned ARIA Platinum certifications for ‘Laps Around The Sun’ (Double Platinum), ‘Gone’, ‘Runaway’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Love Me Now’, ‘Stronger’ and ‘Four Feet in the Forest’ (EP), plus Gold certifications for his ‘Laps Around The Sun’ album and six tracks within his musical catalogue.
Written over the past year, the latest 10 track album release from Ziggy Alberts, ‘Dancing In The Dark’, cracks open a world of vulnerable and honest introspection, as he dives into his own personal self discoveries. The album speaks of overcoming adversity and embodying love and hope within our lives.

Opening the album with ‘Campfire’, Ziggy reminds us that we have the innate ability to rise above any time of darkness.. A powerful opening message shared amongst a soundscape that almost makes you feel like he is playing directly for you in front of the light of a campfire.
The title track of the album, ‘Dancing In The Dark’ set the scene for the intention of the whole album, Ziggy Albert explains, “This [song] ultimately is a story about dancing in the dark, which sums up the endeavour and spirit of this whole record: singing and digging deep into courage and joy in the face of sadness and chaos”.
In the final minutes with, ‘Rewind’, Ziggy introduces a Latin style Bossa Nova vibe, as he shares the final message of encouragement to embrace every one of life’s experiences, as if they were the last.
