Hailing from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, singer-songwriter, Macarena creates music that resonates with the sounds of alternative R&B and Neo Soul.
Inspired by the likes of Erykah Badu, Jorja Smith and SiR, Macarena has a powerful intention within her music to lyrical safe space for her listeners, writing music about self-doubt, letting go and growth.
Collaborating with producers, Jeremiah and Jesse, Macarena’s latest single, ‘Paradise’ is one of a stream of four single releases being shared over the coming months.
Created during the Covid-19 pandemic, ‘Paradise’ was born out of a reflection on a feeling of discomfort in the way that she was living her life. She had been hiding who she was in many ways and had a desire t begin to reveal her true self. Macarena could feel a change coming on in the search for finding ‘paradise’.. a world filled with self-confidence and self-acceptance.
