Blake Cateris Reflects On The Struggle Of Breaking Old Habits With Single, ‘Days, Weeks, Months & Years’

Australian Sydneysider and folk singer-songwriter, Blake Cateris has been on a journey of reinvention both within his music and within his own self.

Previously known for his success as front man of punk outfit, Molly & The Krells, Blake Cateris is certainly not new to the musical arena, having shared the stage with the likes of Bodyjar, Hard-Ons, 28 Days and The Getaway Plan, as well as currently holding a residency at the iconic Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice.

Beneath the depths of punk inspiration, Blake has always been drawn to songwriters that have that special ‘something’ that pulls people in and leaves a mark in their soul. He has hoped that one day he could create music reminiscent of powerful songwriters like Frank Turner, Butch Walker, Dave Hause and Laura Jane Grace, that combines captivating stories with the honesty and vulnerability of real life.

Creating his solo career has allowed him to do just this. The releases of his first two tracks, ‘Careless Memories’ and ‘It’ll Never Happen To Me’ have begun to touch the hearts of his fans and music industry professionals alike.

“I’ve played in many different types of bands – hard rock, rock n’ roll, modern rock, hardcore, straight up punk, pop punk, art rock, the list goes on. But nothing quite feels as honest to myself than the music I’m making right now and this is a big step in the right direction for me to start living a more balanced life.” Blake Cateris

Produced and Mixed by Daniel Antix at Def Wolf Studios and Mastered by George Georgiadis at Little Wing Sound, the latest single release from Blake Cateris, ‘Days, Weeks, Months & Years’ combines his passions for relatable and poetic storytelling, inner self reflection and discovery and intricate musical creation, resulting in a stunning raw and acoustic sound that resonates long after the song has finished playing.
