Residing in Miami, United States, pop singer songwriter, ALEJ began discovering his love of music through recording covers of songs he loved, on his childhood webcam.
Seeing the passion that ALEJ had, his sister taught him how to use GarageBand and to begin to write his own music.. It has now been seven years since, and he has built from privately sharing his tracks on SoundCloud to now having shared with his fans, a string of releases and garnered attention from fans, blogs and the public alike.
Inspired by the pop sounds of Taylor Swift, Troye Sivan and Ariana Grande, ALEJ is in the process of releasing singles from his upcoming album.
“This album was first conceptualized during the beginning of the pandemic. I was feeling very disillusioned with the word and felt like I needed an escape from what was going on. So this album contains songs that are mostly written from a fictional point of view.” ALEJ
Self written and recorded in his home studio and produced by Andrei Sora, the latest single release from ALEJ, ‘Hopeless Romantic’ tells a story about wanting to move forward in a relationship, despite having awareness that your perception of the person is pure fantasy.
“I think the most interesting part about this song is the fact that it had so many different versions before creating the final one we have now. The song original had sort of an 80s rock vibe but it was scrapped as I was really trying to go for more of a dance pop/commercial vibe.” ALEJ
