I had the absolute honour of catching up with French artist, divine&acajou in January, with the release of her debut single, ‘Viens’ (You can read the article here) and now she is back with the release of her equally stunning second single, ‘You Got Me Here’.

With a dual english and french artistic musical style that meanders between chamber and indie pop, and infuses elements of folk guitar, jazzy bass and African rhythmics, divine&acajou has a passion rooted in sharing freedom of creativity within her music and diving into her expression of women’s empowerment.

Inspired by the likes of French artists such as Berger, Sanson, Balavoine, Rita Mitsouko and Pow Wow, as well as American and English artists such as Simon&Garfunkel, The Beatles, Eurythmics and Bronski Beat, the musical journey began at the age of 5, when she began to learn classical music on the violin. As she developed and followed her love of music, she became a professional vocalist in a choir.

After featuring in Etat Limite’s 2020 album “L’Amour n’existera plus”, the beginning of the solo musical project, divine&acajou was born.

The latest single release from divine&acajou, ‘You Got Me Here’ brings a taste of what is to come from her upcoming EP release.

‘You Got Me Here’ is a dreamy world of pure creativity and expression, and brings a sense of deep wisdom with it.. The track almost makes you feel that you’re exploring a new world filled with pain left behind and moving towards an optimistic and hopeful future.

You can’t help but be completely immersed and drawn into all the different layers of vocals, the laidback beats and bass and guitar lines.
