For Sydney Northern Beaches, Australian multi instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Luke Hansen, music has been a necessity of life, with the passion pulsing through his veins.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, Connan Mockasin and The Beatles, Luke has been heavily engaged within the Sydney music scene since the tender age of 16.
Recorded, mixed and mastered at Studios 301 in Sydney, a fusion of grassroots and psych rock, the latest single release from Luke Hansen, ‘Scream’ is a teaser of what is to come from his upcoming February 2023 album.
‘Scream’ tells a story of the feelings of being stripped of your identity and the journey taken as you find solace within groups that are perhaps misunderstood by society.
“Normally I have a hard time writing the initial chords, but with this I found myself scribbling on pieces of loose paper to try and remember the chords/arpeggiations that came to my head.” Luke Hansen
The song creates an amazing balance between the feeling of inner contemplation and juxtaposes it with a sense of moving forward and finding a calm freedom, through the use of space between the light guitar riffs, tinkling keys and understated percussion within the track.
‘Scream’ is truly a hypnotic masterpiece that is a must add to your next chillout playlists.
