Consisting of Inês Rebelo (vocals) and Danny Elliott (instrumentalist), dark wave indie duo, Forgotten Garden create and collaborate with guest artists in their passion for writing melancholic and haunting tracks, that are set to create chills down your spine.
With a combined journey that began in 2019, Inês spent many years residing in Scotland, before moving to her native origins within Portugal. Danny resides within the north of Scotland.
Whilst fairly eclectic within their style, Forgotten Garden have a signature sound that fuses influences of post-punk bands such as The Cure, Joy Division and The Doors, with vocal influences that resonate with the sounds of Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, Chelsea Wolfe, Weyes Blood, Kelsey Lu and Warpaint.
Mixed and mastered by Will Mason and incorporating artists, Morgane Bagnouls (backing vocals) and Dan Aldrum (Drums), the latest indie-rock single by Forgotten Garden, ‘Memoriam’ is a sad story inspired by the inability to comfort a loved one in the time of their passing.
The track was written during Covid-19 lockdowns.. a time where, at times, the inability to be there for dying loved ones or attend funerals was a heart-breaking reality.
With the depth of emotion expressed within the song and Inês’ vocals, combined with an atmospheric soundscape filled with lively drums, a powerful bass line, mournful synth vibes and emotive guitar lines, the contrast comes together in a powerful indie-rock masterpiece.
