Launching into the music scene in 2013 with the release of his debut EP, ‘Sparks’, New Yorker, Liam Frost is the man behind the high energy, solo music project, Oceans In The Sky.
Over the last nine years, Oceans In The Sky has led Liam to perform all across China, Taiwan and the United States, as well as on television and radio shows around Taiwan, all the while releasing singles and growing his name.
Currently working towards his album release in January 2023, ‘Parallels’, Liam has returned to his home of New York City, formed a band for live shows and has signed to Fred Mascherino’s (The Color Fred, Taking Back Sunday) Heading East Records.
‘Parallels’ is spanning across a multitude of genres, languages and cultures. The songs contain lyrics in multiple languages, fuses the sounds of western music with eastern music and bring a feel of catchy pop melodies and combine it with the energy of punk music, pulling it all together to send a message of a need for belonging.
The latest ‘summer 2-pack’ discovery from Oceans In The Sky, ‘Song Of The Summer’ and his B-Side track, ‘Fake Holiday – Remix’ were created and released through Heading East Records and are the first releases from his upcoming album, ‘Parallels’.
Telling a story about being with someone special and hearing a great song playing, making everything feel perfect, ‘Song Of The Summer’ began for Liam as he was living in Taipei and had been travelling around Japan for Summer Sonic. The sun beating down and the lively atmosphere allowed the song to flow out of him, creating this dance floor favourite.
His B-Side single, ‘Fake Holiday – Remix’ was written by Liam as a Valentines Day gift and provides a feel reminiscent of 90’s R&B, featuring a distinct bass line groove, smooth piano lines, as well as full string and horn sections.
Here in Australia, we are so happily saying goodbye to cold weather, and getting ready for things to heat up as we move towards spring and summer.. these tracks are sure to get us in the mood for our upcoming summer!
