Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, Laura Hagnäs, the woman behind the musical project, HAGNÄS, creates music from her soul, playing the acoustic guitar, piano and mandolin, as well as her stunning vocals.
Growing up speaking two languages in Finland, HAGNÄS had difficulty understanding why music should be restricted to one language, when the song would choose it’s own language and direction.
Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Bon Iver, HAGNÄS began her musical journey, playing professionally from 2016 and since that time her quest to touch people through her music has seen her play hundreds of shows through busking, house shows and festivals.
Recorded and produced in her home studio, HAGNÄS’ track ‘Follow The River’ tells a deep and intrinsic story of what it takes to trust yourself and what’s required for things to work out in the end.
“This song is meant to give strength, believe in oneself and have some trust and I hope it can lead you that way too.” HAGNÄS
The song was originally written by HAGNÄS in 2013, at a time where she was unsure about whether she should complete her bar exams in Germany, as she reflected on the difficulty of the road ahead.
“I made the definite decision to go for it and actually graduate from law school, I wrote this song to gather my strength and to remind myself that I can trust myself and the process involved.” HAGNÄS
