Jessy Takes Listeners On A Journey Of Faith With Single, ‘Pilgrimage’

Square

United Kingdom based christian artist, Jessy began her musical journey learning to play music through her musical mother, who was a piano teacher and through playing music in her church youth band.

Inspired by the likes of Steffany Gretzinger, Sara Bareilles, Lauren Daigle, Rachel Platten and Adele, Jessy has recently travelled to Cyprus, where she had the opportunity to perform her music for many of her musical fans.

Self written and recorded by Jessy, and mixed by her talented University friends, Jessy’s latest single, ‘Pilgrimage’ came to life after inspiration from the book ‘Pilgrim’s progress’, which inspired Jessy from a young age.

“Pilgrimage is about a journey of faith, it speaks of strength through the hardships of life found throughout the Christian faith. It is a story; an epic love story.” Jessy

This beautiful track filled with stunning strings and the vulnerability and emotion in Jessy’s vocals will pull at those heart-strings.

Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

Hey I am Jessy and I am a singer songwriter from Tamworth/Birmingham.

I am a Contemporary Christian artist with country influences.

What was it that first inspired you to begin a career in music?

My faith.

Music has always inspired and helped me and I hope my music can do the same for others.

How would you describe the feel of your music?

Heartwarming, uplifting and peaceful.

You have recently released your single, ‘Pilgrimage’.. what was the inspiration behind the creation of this single?

I read a book as a child called the Pilgrims progress which symbolises someone’s journey to and through faith.

Sort of like a journey.

I feel like I have been on a journey these last few years, especially with the pandemic so it seemed to fit with how I was feeling.

What does ‘Pilgrimage mean to you?

Pilgrimage is hopeful to me, it’s a story of hope, how anyone can find grace and love no matter who you are.

What did the creative process look like for ‘Pilgrimage?

A lot of evenings sitting at my piano, but I love doing that, just me and my keys and I just let whatever is on my heart pour out.

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

My faith in God is where my inspiration comes from, it is a way for me to express my emotions and learnings through my journey.

Love, life people and everything that is good and true. Really cool melodies and jazz and blue sounds also inspire me to try new things!

How has the pandemic affected your release?

I haven’t had that much opportunity to gig, which I hope to change real soon.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

I would love to be able to keep doing what I do.

Make money and make a living from creating music.

I hope my songs inspire and help people, that’s one of my main goals.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

My Moto and mission statement is “Just As You Are,” no matter who you are or where you come from, I hope everyone finds joy in my music. Come….Just As You Are
