2. Stolen – Róisín O

Based in Ireland and having shared the stage with the likes of Lionel Richie, Bryan Ferry, Snow Patrol, Brad Paisley, Hozier and Colin Hay, pop artist, Róisín O has been wowing audiences since she first debuted her music to the world, with album, ‘The Secret Life of Blue’.

For three years, prior to lockdowns, Róisín was performing as a part of the band, Thanks Brother. For Róisín, the pandemic became an opportunity to reflect on her journey and focus on creating new solo music, which led to her successful single releases, Heart+Bones, Still Gold and 2023.

Co-written by singer/songwriter, Gavin James and produced with Philip Magee (Kodaline, Script) and Cian MacSweeney (True Tides, Westlife), her latest single, ‘Stolen’ is the fourth single release from Róisín’s upcoming album.

“I wrote the lyrics to Stolen after bumping into an ex on the street and all the emotions I’d buried away came flooding back. Talking to him that day, knowing him so well, but at the same time not knowing him anymore, the reasons we ended the relationship became hard to recall. It felt like it had been stolen from us.” Róisín

3. Prime Meridian – Taxiway

Nashville, United States based indie rock band, Taxiway began as a solo, bedroom pop journey for singer/songwriter, Mike Aurand, in 2020, during covid-19 lockdowns. In 2021, the band was formed with the addition of bassist Joseph Jared and drummer Caila Singleton.

“I think 2020 left us all with an anxious, simmering intensity that needed to be channeled by turning the volume down, rather than up.” Mike Aurand

Inspired by the sounds of The XX, The National, and Jeff Buckley, the band create a fusion of dream pop, post-rock, and Americana sounds.

Taxiway’s single, ‘Prime Meridian’ was written by Mike Aurand during the pandemic, as he dreamt of the ability to travel the world again, while his financial status doesn’t allow. The song forms part of the band’s album, ‘Absence’, which was released via Seven Plates Records.

“I initially planned to make instrumental music that resembled the songs on my travel playlist, songs to listen to while the plane taxied down the runway, the quiet, tense moment before take-off. When the pandemic hit, I decided to keep my mind occupied by writing real songs rather than just making instrumental loops. I began missing the thrill of traveling, which brought new significance to the name [Absence].” Mike Aurand

4. Lumination – Delta

Hailing from New York, United States, artist, Brandon Neuburger created Delta as a genre eclectic musical project that was created out of a need for exploration and expression through songwriting and collaboration with artists from all over the world.

Delta’s music is inspired by the sounds of everything from Gorillaz & Tame Imapala to Eddie Kendricks and Nile Rodgers.

Recorded in his home studio in New York, Delta connected, through a mutual friend, with saxophone player, Joe Natale for the creation of ‘Lumination’, in which he says, “Joe blew me away. He is amazing at what he does”.

Inspired by the electronic indie, ethereal pop, and alternative hip hop scenes, Delta has created a soundscape of dreamy and etheral lofi sounds, combined with a driving drum beat and catchy vocals, ‘Lumination’ was created, during the pandemic, as a part of his album, ‘Indigo Sun’.

“It was interesting creating this project because I was able to connect with so many different artists throughout the world in a time where nobody physically left their space. I think that is pretty notable because relationships were formed in a way that can be pretty long lasting.” Delta
