Amber T Expresses The Vulnerability of Being Let Down With Single, ‘Broken Dreams’

Square

We are joined by 18 year old United Kingdom based singer songwriter, self taught pianist and Yamaha ambassador, Amber T, as she speaks all about her indie pop single release, ‘Broken Dreams.

Influenced by the likes of Sam Fender, The 1975, Nothing but Thieves and James Arthur, Amber began performing at the age of 8 and began her music career at the tender age of 15 years old, when she released her debut single, ‘TickTock’, for which she had her first on air interview with UK’s BBC Radio 1.

At 16 years of age, while developing her worldwide fanbase, she captured the attention of Sir Elton John, who added her single, ‘No Company’ to his Rocket Hour radio show.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out there in 2022! Lockdown put a halt to performances in 2020 and I’m so glad to be back out there and on stage!” Amber T

Produced by Jamie Brown & Conor Mangan of JBJ Recordings and mastered by Robin Schmidt at
24-96 Mastering, Amber T’s latest single release, ‘Broken Dreams’ was written when Amber was 15 years old, and she has been waiting for the right time to reveal her track to the world.

“Broken Dreams expresses the feeling of being fed up and being let down. The idea of becoming hopeful for something and it falling apart. The music goes hand in hand with this juxtaposing the happy instrumental to the deeper lyrics, I wrote this song a while back and have been performing it live acoustically and finally got to record it. I absolutely love the way the track worked out in the studio and it has such a good vibe”. Amber T

Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

I’m 18 and I’m a self taught musician that loves performing live and I love writing songs!

I actually started started songwriting aged 13, and I started performing at the age of 8 at Local open Mics.

Since then I have performed over 250 live gigs including a sell out headline show for Teenage Cancer Trust.

During Lockdown I also performed live stream shows for the likes of RoboMagic, Live Nation, Live Nation Middle East, Camden Live and many others!

What was it that first inspired you to begin a career in music?

I was always obsessed with Disney especially Princesses but more so seeing Hannah Montana, at such a young age she really made me want to sing and perform and I begged my Mum to enroll me in a musical theatre group!

How would you describe the feel of your music?

I would describe my songs as meaningful indie feel good vibe

You have recently released your single, ‘Broken Dreams’.. what was the inspiration behind the creation of this track?

Broken Dreams is almost a juxtaposition song, the instrumental is very happy yet lyrically quite downbeat.

I took inspiration from tracks like Tears for Fears as at the time of writing, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” was a really meaningful song for me.

Mainly as when I was writing the song it was at the beginning of lockdown and the amount of uncertainty left me feeling slightly down like a lot of people.

What did the creative process look like for ‘Broken Dreams’?

I actually wrote the song two years ago based on an acoustic guitar song I had created.

It was so much fun to see it develop from something so acoustic and simple, to having all the little delicate intricacies added in the studio recordings alongside the live drums, guitars, keys etc..

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

I take great inspirations from all over the place to be honest, movies, life, news etc. and musically from great artists like Sam Fender, the 1975 and a lot of others.

A lot of artists use the effect of upbeat catchy music with deeper meaningful lyrics which I personally find my favourite type of song!

How has Covid-19 affected your releasing?

It caused a lot of issues as it delayed actual releases, for instance Broken Dreams took 2 years to be released from the actual finished master and the knock on effect meant new tracks that I was already working on have all had to be put back and of course numerous gigs were cancelled, video productions, photo shoots etc. were cancelled.

I am now trying to catch up with things in 2022 and it’s proving to be a bit difficult as we are over a quarter of the way through the year already.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

I’ve already got 18 new live shows confirmed including quite a few fectival dates but ultimately I’d love to start to perform at the really bigger gigs, especially after visiting Reading Festival I’d love to one day be on that stage and that’s my current aim.

I’m also looking at signing a new publishing deal and in talks with labels, so hopefully a lot more people will be able to hear my music and see me live this year.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

I’ll keep it simple and just say……..It gets better!!!

Where can people find your music?

I’m on all streaming sites if you search Amber T and this is the same for YouTube and all other social sites.
