BAYWUD Says It’s Time To Resist The Need To Fight With Single, ‘In The Arms Of Silence’

Square

Based in Los Angeles, United States, indie artist, songwriter and musician, BAYWUD joins us to discuss his single release, ‘In The Arms Of Silence’.

With a musical background of classical piano training, BAYWUD shares deep, emotive lyrics surrounding themes such as suicide prevention, loss and grief, broken relationships, depression, racial injustice as well as hope, togetherness and solidarity.

As his first single for 2022, and eleventh single overall, BAYWUD has released his single, ‘In The Arms Of Silence’, produced by Rune Westberg and part of his upcoming album, due for release in this coming April 2022.

“So many opposing views and so much unnecessary fighting taking place right now. Although we need to unite and support each other more than ever, we seem to be moving further and further away from it. The song is about knowing when it’s time to resist the need to be right.” BAYWUD

As soon as you begin listening to the track, you are faced with the beauty in the simplicity of an emotive electric guitar riff. BAYWUD begins to tell a pleading story, which captivates the listener as they hang onto every word.

This is such a valuable message and the song will have you wanting to play it over and over again.

You can listen to ‘In The Arms Of Silence’ below:

Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

My name is BAYWUD.

I’m an indie artist, songwriter and musician, based in Los Angeles, CA.

What was it that first inspired you to begin a career in music?

Music has been a part of me my entire life.

I spent most of my childhood singing and performing on the stage, and it was always something I knew I wanted to do.

People say that a career in the arts isn’t something that you choose, it’s something that chooses you.

So, I suppose I never really had a choice.

It’s just something that’s always been in my blood.

How would you describe the feel of your music?

In short, I guess I’d have to say emotional and reflective, with a positive message.

My style leans toward a more indie rock vibe.

Some of my lyrics touch on topics like suicide prevention, loss and grief, depression, racial injustice and relationship struggles.

You have recently released your single, “ In The Arms Of Silence”.. What was the inspiration behind the creation of this single?

The inspiration really came from my observations of our society, and the way it tends to operate.

People are often trying to prove their point, and sometimes don’t take the time to listen to one another.

There’s so much unnecessary noise in the world, and the song is really about knowing when it’s time to put our egos aside, start loving each other a little more, and try to open up our hearts and our minds.

What did the creative process look like for “In The Arms of Silence”

The song was co-written with Rune Westberg, who also produced the track.

Rune and I have written several songs together, and therefore have our own creative process that we share.

We usually always start with an idea of what the message needs to be.

We’ll start with either a piano or guitar, and just begin playing around with chords and melodies.

It generally all happens very organically.

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

I get inspired by almost anything.

Other artists, of course, feed my inspiration.

But I get ideas from my own experiences in life  and the experiences of everyone around me.

I just try to listen to my heart and decide from there what stories I want to tell.

For me, the heart is the one thing that rarely tells a lie.

How has Covid-19 impacted your release?

I don’t know if I can say it’s had any impact.

We set a date for release, and didn’t really have any issues.

I know the beginning of the pandemic was more difficult because a lot of songwriters weren’t meeting in person to write.

So, we had to rely on zoom to get anything done.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

My main goal with my music has always been to reach the hearts of other people.

I just hope that my music has an impact, and maybe gives someone some insight or hope in life.

One thing I love about music, is that no matter what my frame of mind, I can play a song and let it take me to another place.

I plan to continue to do more live shows, but ultimately I just want people to enjoy the music I put out.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

I’d just like to thank everyone who’s been supportive of my music.

It’s what keeps me pushing forward and I can’t wait to share more music with you.

I truly appreciate all of you.

Stay tuned for more music to come.

Where can people find your music?

You can find my music on all available music platforms.
