Having an incredible understanding of the power that vocal styles have over us, Cindy-Louise chose to intentionally whisper the lyrics within this song, as a way to arouse the senses of the listener.. As you listen to the track, you are drawn into every word.

Throughout the song and featured within the cover art, is the colour red.. Red is a powerful colour that symbolises action, strength, energy and passion, making it the perfect addition as a metaphor for the message that Cindy-Louise is portraying within the song.

Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

My name is Cindy-Louise.

I am a singer/songwriter who currently resides in The Netherlands.

I started my independent music career in 2019 and released my debut album Humanity the same year, which was received very well.

I absolutely love creating my own music and I mostly enjoy writing and singing Indie pop and indie/progressive rock music.

What was it that first inspired you to begin a career in music?

I went on a girl’s trip with my mother to the United Kingdom and we saw Mama Mia in west end.

I saw those amazing singer/actors on stage and knew that I wanted to be a musician.

How would you describe the feel of your music?

The feel is very emotional and transformative.

My lyrics are well thought out and if you take the time to immerse yourself you will love my music.

You have recently released your single, ‘Femme Fatale’.. what was the inspiration behind the creation of this single?

I wanted to write a song that empowered woman, very often we are looked over because of our gender, but we fight, and we succeed.

Never underestimate a determined woman.

Along with my own personal experiences I see it on a daily basis where sexism still exists and not only that but discrimination in general for all humans, I wanted to voice my opinion and let my art speak about issues in todays society.

What does ‘Femme Fatale’ mean to you?

Its means woman empowerment and a sense of satisfaction when I achieve my goals, no matter the obstacles I may face.

What did the creative process look like for ‘Femme Fatale’?

The whole process was taken quite seriously because although the song may have a sexy tune, the underlying message is very important.

Therefore, with accordance to my brands colours I wanted the look and the sound to be strong.

Incorporating the colour red (which symbolizes strength, passion and power) as much as possible in the lyrics, music video and cover art.

Most of my creativity starts at home in my own studio, but I do rely on my amazing team for their opinion and help to get my creative message across in a cohesive manner.

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

I find it all around me, but I mostly find it in films, games, and also other musicians.

I do however always draw inspiration from my own emotions and past experiences.

How has Covid-19 impacted your release?

It has not impacted it that badly, I am just not able to perform at live shows or interact in person as much as I would like to.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

I would like to grow a community and interact with my fellow music lovers.

It would be amazing to also see one of my songs featured in a film, because my style of writing is very theatrical and would do amazing in films.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

Surround yourself with people that impact your life in a positive manner, and always follow your passions.
