The great music just keeps coming!

Below is an eclectic mix of five new releases that we are vibing with right now.

1. Punch Me In The Face – Billon Dailey (Album)

Hailing from the USA and inspired by artists such as Mac DeMarco, Father John Misty, Dayglow and Benny Sings, Dylan Bailey is the man behind the musical project Billon Dailey.

Dylan’s musical journey began with being heavily involved in music within the church and with writing Christian music. He felt that the pressures of writing Christian music limited his creative flame.

The pandemic led Dylan on a new spiritual journey, realising that life was short.. This was when his album, ‘Punch Me In The Face’ was born.

The tongue in cheek album title is based on a reflection of discovering who he truly is and allows him to tell his story.

“This entire project follows my thoughts and feelings throughout 2020. I saw myself finding music again, fall into panic/anxiety attacks for weeks, question my existence, worry about losing my parents, and ultimately found that happiness is how we view the world around us.”

Written, Recorded, Mixed and Mastered completely on his own, in his home studio, ‘Punch Me In The Face’ takes the listener on a journey of human emotion, exploring themes from anxiety, to existential crises, and completing the journey with hope, with the final track, ‘Minutes We Don’t See’.

The second single release from Danny and his latest release, ‘Picturesque’ takes a reflective look into his own experience of life in his twenties in an ‘era of toxic social media culture, calling out the common practice of ‘smoothing your skin’ to enhance your appearance’

“I wrote this song at a time of tremendous insecurity, when I felt anxious every time I scrolled through Instagram. Instead of feeling helpless, I decided to dance away my feelings.” – Danny Beau
