The great music just keeps coming!

Below is an eclectic mix of five new releases that we are vibing with right now.

1. Drawing By Design – Mother Culture

Melbourne, Australia based brothers, Darcy and Spencer Ward are the musical creators of the independent music project, Mother Culture.

The pair work harmoniously together to self create their music, everything from the writing of the song to recording and producing.

Following their 2020 success of their debut EP release, ‘To Be Frank’, Mother Culture have released their upbeat third single, ‘Drawing By Design’, which explores a vibrant indie pop/rock vibe with a hint of psychedelia.

Pulling on the heartstrings of the listener, the poetic lyrics within the track explore the emotional pain and doubt that comes with the ending of a relationship and portrays the feeling of having been in a relationship with someone who often acts without thinking.

Listening to the track you will be surrounded by the feel good sounds of rhythmic guitars, cheeky bass lines and percussive drum beats, along with vocals that will have you exploring your inner self, while grooving to the catchy tune.

2. Vintage – SKiPPER

New York City, USA based acoustic/electro pop duo, SKiPPER, feel a calling to express an element of feeling within their music.

Likened to artists such as HAIM, Kacey Musgraves, MUNA, Troye Sivan, LEON, Lorde, and Taylor Swift, the duo is made up of artists, Corinne and Mason, whose backgrounds and passions with pop music have led to the catchy poppy sound you hear in SKiPPER’s music today.

After hitting the music scene with their debut cover release, the Legally Blonde hit “Perfect Day” by Hoku, SKiPPER have now released their third single, ‘Vintage’, which combines a sound of acoustic vibes with the warm feel of electro synth sounds.

The track brings a new twist on the exploration of the isolation that Covid-19 lockdowns brought across the world.. the exploration nature that many of us had the opportunity to begin to open to during this time.

Corinne and Mason were craving getting back to the fields of grass and Blue Ridge Mountains in their home US state of Virginia and would get through by imagining two lovers running through a field with sun beaming on their faces.

“If you close your eyes long enough, you can set the scene too. The lovers hear birds chirping. They feel the crisp air and the grass between their toes. They are at peace and more importantly they are in love with a soul they’ve known before in another lifetime. That’s what Vintage is all about – the lucky ones who find their twin flame/ soulmate.”

3. The Greatest Gift – Tina Loeffler

German based Tina Loeffler, creates all her music, from writing to production in her home studio, located in the woods of her home town, in the North of the Black Forest in Germany.

Often inspired by a poem, a thought or a picture that captures her interest, Tina develops her music as a tool to create calmness and to understand herself and her surroundings and sees her music as a work of art.. she loves the process of creating not only the music, but also the artwork that surrounds it, such as the cover art and videos.

“There is a lot of movement in the world and I always try to focus on one thing, instead of many. Not only it is soothing and brings you calmness, it also helps to get a better understanding of yourself and your surroundings. Especially nowadays, in times of isolation and Face Time, moments we share together at one place are so valuable, but often rare. Moments which can settle and nourish us. That’s why I wrote ‚The Greatest Gift‘, to remember how important these experiences are.“

Tina Loeffler’s latest track, ‘The Greatest Gift’ is a Christmas song.. more specifically the Christmas Eve feeling, when you know that you are coming home to see loved ones.

With the sound of piano chords, acoustic guitar and light percussion, combined with the soothingly sweet and airy voice of Tina, the folky feel song has similarities to the feel of Joni Mitchell or Bon Iver.

The track reminds us what is important at christmas.. that so often we get swept away with the busyness of the season or the festivities.. Tina takes you back to your raw and authentic feel of christmas as a child.
