2. I Miss Me – Ellis Newman

Inspired by Scandinavian pop artists such as Dagny or Astrid S, 25 year old Dutch artist, Ellis Newman has a passion for turning authentic and emotional lyrics into upbeat and danceable songs.. She has an eclectic feel to her music but describes her style as relatable-for-Zillenials-pop.

While an introvert, Ellis uses her music as a tool to dive into her deepest depths and share her vulnerable feelings of discomfort with her listeners.

Ellis Newman’s third single release, ‘I Miss Me’, was co-written with artist, Elin Namnieks (Namelle), during the pandemic over Zoom calls.

This pop song relates to those moments where you feel like you have lost yourself, but finding comfort in the feeling of knowing who you are and that you will find yourself eventually.

“It’s funny how song lyrics can become a prophecy sometimes; I lost myself a few times during the creative process of this song, doubted myself yet persisted and found myself again. That’s exactly what this song is about. A lot of versions later, it’s still not perfect – but nothing is. So I find it worthy enough for it to see the light of day and for the world to hear it”
