Alethia Explores Duality of Love with Single, ‘Vallisneria’ Featuring Libardo Gonzales Jr.

Square

A nominee for three latin Grammy awards, Melbourne based, Colombian soulful artist, Alethia takes us on an enchanting journey in discovering the contrasts and duality of what it is to fall in love through her latest single release.

The soulful latin track, ‘Vallisneria’ features Libardo Gonzales Jr., a Columbian singer/songwriter from the Andean region. This is the 7th track in a series of collaborations that Alethia has shared and is a single from an upcoming EP for Libardo Gonzales Jr.

As you listen to the song, you will find yourself surrounded by percussive sounds and the melancholic feel deriving from synths, in a song that combines the latin sound with the more indie music vibe.

‘Vallisneria’ is a story of love and the paradoxical ups and downs along the journey.. the story is filled with symbolism that provide metaphors for the lived experiences. For example, the word ‘Vallisneria’ is a particular aquatic plant that in its reproductive dynamics becomes a mirror of romanticism and human passions. The male plant in search of its female has to stop living to be able to reproduce and be born again and give life to a new plant; thus symbolizing the union of two lovers.

“It is an encounter with the duality of falling in love. The enchanting journey filled with hope and courage and the fear that comes with considering reopening so intimately with another human being, contrasting our being with the dynamics of other species in nature.”
