As you listen to her music, there is something deeply intimate as you can sense the feelings and meaning behind the words and expression that she is sharing with us.

Abi’s single, ‘Shadow’ is no different from this.. The song begins with stunningly beautiful piano lines that immediately take you to a place of deep thought and reflection.

As the song progresses, soulful and storytelling vocals begin to tell a conversational story of someone who we can sense is giving to everyone around them, however, not giving to themselves and becoming ‘a shadow’.

United States, Montreal based artist, December Rose, joins us with her latest Album release, ‘Raise Your Voice’.

December’s music is deeply passionate and reflective, as she bravely explores the challenges that she has faced in her own life surrounding abuse and mental health, and the journey that she has taken as she has grown and developed her courageous voice to speak out without shame.

As you listen to December Rose’s album, ‘Raise Your Voice’, the first two aspects that hit you are the beautiful, well trained vocals and the deep emotions that are present through every song. They are the kind of emotions that come from a truly personal place, that one can only express if they’ve lived those experiences.

5. Better – Sam Handy

UK based singer/songwriter, Sam Handy, has a background in American dance music and rock and has created a sound for his music, which he has based on his childhood heroes.

His latest single, ‘Better’ is a track that he has established as the perfect balance of funky and laid-back, in a true and honest reflection of his personal lockdown experience in the UK.

When beginning to listen to ‘Better’, it brings the feelings that you start to feel as summer is starting.. when you’ve come out of those cold winter days.. spring has sprung and you’re getting ready for summer holiday groove vibes.

What better vibe to experience as you’re focusing on the feelings of isolation and anxiety after experiencing lockdowns.. it’s a feeling that you’re bouncing out of lockdown with a greater appreciation of your ability to experience freedom.

This song is fresh, funky and you will enjoy dancing around to this amazing full band groovy tune as at least here in Australia, we are moving into our summer holidays and out of lockdown!
