Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

Absolutely!

We are Naked Face, a pop duo comprised of Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Steve Slik and Luke House on Bass.

Our music is a unique blend of electro-pop and EDM. We are a mood, energy, atmosphere and a feeling.

How would you sum up your mission or passions in 3 words?

Three words that sum us up are: Energy, Atmosphere, Feeling

How would you describe the overall vibe of your music?

Although our songs are high energy, there is an emotional depth to our music.

We draw inspiration for our themes and stories from our own life experiences, whether they are sad, traumatic, happy, or exciting.

This emotional vibe imbues our music with a sense of authenticity that resonates with our listeners.

You have recently released your single, ‘Eyes In Love’.. what was the inspiration behind the creation of this track?

The track was written by our frontman and songwriter, Steve Slik, who drew upon his tumultuous past.

Specifically, he was inspired by a toxic relationship that left him feeling heartbroken and betrayed, having been led on and cheated on.

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the hurt and reminiscing that ensued after the breakup, as he grappled with the painful aftermath of the failed love affair.

But the song is also a metaphor for the struggles Steve faced with oxycodone addiction. The addictive nature of the drug parallels the all-consuming passion of love, and the withdrawals from the drug are akin to the heart-wrenching pain of a breakup.

Steve was overprescribed oxycodone, and the hospital failed to monitor the lethal amounts they were prescribing him. He eventually overdosed, and the resulting withdrawals left him with severe anxiety disorders, chronic insomnia, and PTSD.

Love, like a drug, can be all-consuming, intoxicating, and ultimately destructive.

What does ‘Eyes In Love’ mean to you?

Steve Slik: It’s a very personal song as it was written at a time when I was at a very low point in my life. It gets me in my feels whenever I listen to it.

What did the creative process look like for ‘Eyes In Love’?

Steve Slik: The song was written by myself and my father James. It was recorded and produced in our home studio. All the instruments were recorded through our plugins and DAW.

Our writing process is a back-and-forth type of thing.

We are constantly bouncing ideas back and forth until the best one fits.

That was the creative process behind Eyes in Love.

That and the events that were going on then.

What do you feel has been one of the biggest lessons for you along your musical journey?

As a songwriter, I have come to appreciate the importance of having a supportive and committed network of individuals who share one’s vision and aspirations.

The biggest mistake I made was relying on the uncommitted and negative band members.

If some members exhibit negativity or a lack of commitment, it is essential not to allow their behaviour to impede progress.

You can’t let anyone weigh you down. It’s very important to surround yourself with successful positive and like-minded individuals to get to where you want to be.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

We would love to be able to expand our reach and connect with more listeners worldwide.

It is our dream to tour various regions, engage with diverse audiences, and experience different cultures.

Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce the release of multiple singles this year.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

To our beloved fans, words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for your unwavering support.

Your encouragement and passion for our music have inspired us beyond measure, and we are forever grateful for your loyalty.

It is you who give us the strength and motivation to keep creating and sharing our music with the world. Without you, our journey as musicians would be incomplete.

We promise to keep giving our all and to continue creating music that speaks to your hearts.

From the bottom of our hearts, we love you and thank you endlessly.

Where can people find your music?

People can find our music on all streaming platforms. It can be found on Youtube and all over the internet as well.
