With roots planted in a Norwegian past and currently residing in London, United Kingdom, indie-folk singer-songwriter, Fran Lusty lives life with the passion of great story-telling. An art that she explores, both through her music and her writing; studying a PhD in English Literature.
We had the honour of sharing Fran’s single, ‘Flight Of Your Mind’ in September this year. You can read the article here.
Currently working on her debut album, inspired by Damien Rice and Virginia Woolf, Fran Lusty has been exploring her new home of London through her regular gigs, one venue at a time.
Recorded in Andrew Chappell’s home studio in London, the latest single release from Fran Lusty, ‘You Play Me Like A Song’ is the third release from Fran’s upcoming debut album, set for release in the United Kingdom summer of 2023.
“You Play Me Like A Song was written as I was getting into a relationship, and starting to fall deeply for another individual. I was worried that they would play me like a song, on repeat, until they were tired of having me around.” Fran Lusty
Connecting to her previous releases, the track features the sound of reverse piano, alongside stunning acoustic guitar, strings and smooth vocal sounds.
“We worked on the production together for a week, trying to get it as close to the live version as possible. Andrew played the electric guitar, I played the acoustic. We built it up with harmonies and strings, keeping breaths in where they felt natural. It starts with the acoustic guitar and vocals, and ends the same way, coming full circle with a burst of colour in the middle.” Fran Lusty
Fran Lusty is a true artist, and ‘You Play Me Like A Song’ truly resonates with her creative presence.
