Canadian artists, Ree and Dito are the brother and sister masterminds behind the Indonesian folk musical duo, The Macarons Project.
Formed in 2015 and inspired by the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, Novo Amor, Haux, Priscilla Ahn and Ingrid Michaelson, the pair started their combined musical journey, sharing and performing cover songs. We are incredibly inspired by the stunning artistry that they have now begun to share within their original tracks, having now released their second original single.
The Macarons Project have seen the power of social media, as they have built up a fanbase within their music, saying that one of their cover songs attained more than 70K reels created on Instagram.
With vocals recording within their own home studio, the acoustic guitar recorded at Silverside Sound in Cobble Hill, BC Canada, and produced by Jacob Montague, the latest melancholic ambient indie folk single from The Macarons Project, ‘Never Be Enough’ tells a story of the fragility of young love.
“This song highlights the awkward stages of young love, when the heart is naïve, fragile, and easily manipulated. Not knowing if the feelings are genuine or if it caters to self-interest. Is it my heart they are after? Or is this a ruse? We want to know that we are enough, otherwise, it’ll never be enough?” The Macarons Project
Listening to ‘Never Be Enough’ will leave you mesmerised by the peaceful, yet melancholic harmonies and warmth within the vocals. Fusing ambience with the crispness of the acoustic guitar, ‘Never Be Enough’ comes together to create an atmosphere of peaceful inner reflection.
