Residing in my home city of Melbourne, Australia, Jo Maloney is the woman behind the musical project, Dragnfly Industri, and is beginning a new chapter of life, as she launches her debut single into the public music arena.
After a life of playing music in cover bands and raising a family of 3 children and realising that she had forgotten her own dream of becoming a professional songwriter, Covid-19 lockdowns saw Jo exploring the art of creativity and songwriting ‘between cups of coffee, glasses of wine and remote learning’.
“I wanted to teach my boys ,even if they don’t understand until they become adults themselves, to never accept limitations. To just go for it. We all have dreams and it’s up to us as to whether we allow them to die or we allow them to fly. That we have so much more control over our lives than we realise and to believe that anything is possible.” Dragnfly Industri
Inspired by classic charismatic artists like Freddie Mercury and Dolly Parton, she is now set to create magic over the coming months as her whimsical melodies and quirky charm, combined with pop inspired instrumentals and introspective lyricism and released into the world.
Produced by Jarred Doueal of Four4ty Recording Studios, Dragnfly Industri’s autobiographical debut single release, ‘Ghost’ tells a story of the dreams that we all hold as we are young, and how they can get lost or forgotten as we get older.
“The song ‘Ghost’ is about daring to fulfil these dreams no matter how old we are because they forever haunt us to make the decision as to whether we choose to let them live or die. It sets the mood to finding the courage to follow what you really want, even when it feels risky and unattainable.” Dragnfly Industri
