love with now, was once in love with another. You stole all your love and someone stole your
love.” Bradley Denniston

Would you like to start by telling us a little about yourself?

I’m an over reaching music freak… Borderline workaholic that is typically found in rooms that lack daylight.

Typically over caffeinated and over confident in my abilities.

What was it that first inspired you to begin a career in music?

I got a black off brand electric guitar when I was 12 for Christmas or my birthday or something (can’t remember)…. Just remember sleeping with that guitar and cuddling it. Waking up to scratches from the machine head.

Later that turned into a $100,000 + loan from good ol’ Sally Mae, a degree in Sound Arts, and a slow and steady move down the Western coast line to Los Angeles.

You have had some extremely impressive accomplishments, including Grammy, Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy nominated work.. What do you feel have been the biggest factors that have led to your success?

Collaboration. An actual love for human beings and the massive amounts of creativity that we all possess goes a really long way.

I’ve learned to never underestimate a person or an idea.

How would you describe the feel of your music?

Nuanced in production and engineering yet so basic that a 3 year old could remember every note and lyric.

You have recently released your single, ‘Stolen Love’.. what was the inspiration behind the creation of this track?

If I’m being honest…. I’ve been writing music for over 26 years. Producing and engineering have been my main focus for the last 15-20 of those years and I realized most artists I was mixing or producing for were pretty shit and I needed to just make something I liked to clean the palette a bit.

Oh and I was micro dosing mushrooms and drinking pre-workout while I wrote about 4-6 different hooks for the song, then landed on the “Stolen Love” melody you hear now… It was a fun, free, and creative process.

What does ‘Stolen Love’ mean to you?

Personally, I’ve been through breakups where I’ve been engaged to be married to someone and they have broke it off because their love was “stolen” from me by someone else…
I’ve done the same.

We all “steal” the ones we love now from someone that has a piece of those hearts. It’s how the world works, we run around stealing love from each other… I guess it’s a bit Darwinian in a sense?

What did the creative process look like for ‘Stolen Love’?

As mentioned above… Drugs, tinkering, and a lot of time trying to write a song that I would love to listen to 10 years from now.

Also, I try and make sure when my wife hears it she still thinks I’m pretty good at making music…. That’s important to me, ya know? I’m always trying to impress my wife. She’s cool and I love her.

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

Music moves through us. I don’t think we find inspiration, I think we are really just vessels and need to go out and have experiences to make great songs.

I’m 38 years old, I’ve had a lot of experiences, influences, travels, and heart breaks… There’s a lot there to pull from.

What would you like to see happen for you in your music from here?

Music for me is communication. I want to communicate with people that want to listen and try and understand. Connecting with more people is the only reason you should make art, to tell of the human experience on another dimension that cannot be experienced through the other senses.

Also, I love building things and producing tangibles out of thin air. That’s very empowering.

What is one message you would like to share with your fans?

Having “fans” is a very dated idea…. Rockstars and pop stars are dead. I would just say thanks for listening and it’s more important to connect as a friend than be my “fan”.

Also, if you like the music…. Share it and invest a little into it!

Music is NOT free to make, distribute, promote, or be involved in at a professional level.

If you want to continue to have great music and art out in the world, it needs financial support just like anything else of quality. Don’t hesitate to invest a couple bucks into music and other art that helps add to the human experience.

Where can people find your music?

Everywhere.

Spotify, Apple music, Youtube, laser disc, 8-track, and soon to be on wax cylinder
