From Fort Worth, Texas, colby! is imposing her name in the alternative pop scene. She’s now capturing hearts and ears with her new single, “Gone To Bed”.

Growing up, colby! was always surrounded by live music and a variety of creative pursuits. Whether she was singing, writing, baking, painting, or performing, creativity was her escape. Diagnosed with severe dyslexia at age eight, colby! spent three years in intensive therapy to learn how to read. It was during this time that she turned to the arts for solace.

At 14, she began co-writing music with her brother, RJ Johnson, a Berklee College of Music grad. Their collaboration quickly took off, with colby! even contributing to RJ’s songwriting seminars and vocal production courses. When she’s not writing, you can find colby! driving around, singing (or screaming) her heart out to her favorite tunes – a cathartic release that mirrors the energy she puts into her music.

With her six-track EP set to drop in November 2024, colby! is giving fans a taste of what’s to come with her new single, “Gone To Bed”. This track is a showcase of her unique voice—an emotive, almost broken quality that reaches powerful highs. Lyrically, “Gone To Bed” delves into themes of disconnection and unfulfilled promises. The song paints a picture of emotional distance and the struggle to bridge gaps in relationships, offering listeners a deeply relatable and reflective experience.
